How many kids do you want?

I’ve had baby fever for as long as I can remember. I’ve just always wanted to have children. Shortly after having my first, I told Mark I wanted to have 10 kids because I just loved becoming a mother so much. Maybe I’m not entirely serious on the number, but it was a true a reflection of my heart bursting after discovering the joy of motherhood.

I miss carrying a snuggly little infant like this. Here I’m using the Baby K’tan which I absolutely love. I also enjoy the Ergo Baby, Moby Wrap and Baby Bjorn. (Affiliate links.) If you have one wrap or carrier, try another. I swear I like them and use them all for different reasons. I also love gifting one of these items because: carry.all.the.babies. ❤️

Since becoming a momma two and a half years ago, I’ve been amazed at how many people ask if we want more children or when we will have more– even right after delivering our second baby. We have not kept it a secret that our family is not yet complete. {NO, I am not pregnant now. I repeat, I am not pregnant.} We love the idea of having a bigger family and now as we watch our girls interact as sisters, we see in action what we want for our children. They have so. much. love. for one another. Though we are not set on a number, or exactly how our family completeness will form, we know we are not yet a full Boettcher squad.

I asked Maven her thoughts on this topic and this is a snippet of how the conversation went:

Me: Maven, would you like to have another little sister or a little brother some day?

Maven: Sure. I can share my house, mom! {Extreme excitement.}

Me: So would you want another little sister? Or a little brother?

Maven: But we have Sylvie. Can we keep her?

Me: Of course, Sylvie is ours forever. We love her so much, don’t we?

Maven: SYLVIEEEEE! {Squeals to her sister.}

I think that means she’s on board. ? So, I’m curious. Whether you have kids already or if you are just dreaming of having babies some day, how did you or do you decide? How many kids do you want? And how far apart in age? If you’re done having kids, how did you know your family was complete?

    I grew up as the only child in a household so I’ve always wanted 2-3 kids. When I gave birth to my daughter 2 years ago, I knew I want another one. Little did I know that 6 months after she was born, we are going to be blessed with another beautiful baby boy. They are 1 year and 2 months apart. It was challenging but it’s all worth it.

    I honestly think that you’ll just know. You already know the answer to it, just listen to what your heart is telling you.

    Dropping by from a self-hosted site One Awesome Momma because I miss the community. Do check it out when you get a chance. Have a great day!
