Favorite Books for Toddlers

My girls love reading and by the responses and feedback I received from Friday’s post, it’s no secret that your kids love reading too. It was really challenging to narrow down the list to just 10 favorite books for babies because we read so many and so often. I do have to say though, now that Maven is further along in her toddler years, there has been another list of favorites that pile up next to her bed.

Maven’s language skills amaze me and we quite often swear she has a photographic memory. One smart cookie, I tell ya. It’s simply astounding to see her read, or rather recollect, books page by page in such great detail and with the words nearly spot on to the text. She’s evolved from some of the baby books into a new category of story, which is sometimes more pleasurable for mom and dad to read too. ? Maven has a big stack that she loves on regularly, but in effort to be concise, we’ve selected our top 10 toddler books to share.

Favorite Books for Toddlers

  1. The Very Hungry Caterpillar
  1. Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can You?
  1. Barnyard Dance
  1. I Spy {But really, Where is Waldo. Remember her party?}
  1. Are You My Mother?
  1. The Pokey Little Puppy
  1. Goodnight Moon
  1. Five Little Monkeys Jumping On The Bed
  1. Chicka Chicka Boom Boom
  1. I Am A Bunny

Honorable mentions: The Rainbow Fish & The Pout Pout Fish. The Rainbow Fish was my favorite book growing up and my mom gifted my vintage childhood version to me at my baby shower. It is so sweet to read it to Maven. Also, The Pout Pout Fish is such a cute story and one we used to read over and over and over each day, but for whatever reason, we’re on a little break from it right now. Also, Mini Board Books. Do you have any? We love ours. They’re quick, easy and fun to read and really easy to pack up when we’re out and about as well as convenient for in the car.

Of course library cards are wonderful things, but we enjoy having our own books at home too. What are we missing? What are your toddler favorites?
