5 Books Good for My Mama Heart

Happy Monday, friends!

I want to share 5 books that have been SO good for my mama heart with you today, but first I must ask: How is it that we are already so close to the end of another year? Because I set the intention this year to break up with uninspiring habits + stop reading, watching and listening to rubbish to instead, surround myself with a world of inspiration, I was thinking back to the resolution I made to Create My Ideal 2017 when putting together this post. I honestly can’t believe we are closing in on the end of another year here! (And that means we will have another baby in our family so soon too!) I have to say, I do think I’ve done a generally good job at sticking with my resolution and have really come to love surrounding myself with inspiration. I listen to a lot of inspirational messages and it is SO refreshing + life giving. I don’t read as much as I used to, but these books? They are available in audio version, which is simply perfect for a mama’s life, if you want my opinion.

If you haven’t done so already, I highly recommend you sign up for Audible on Amazon. It is a subscription, but if you sign up you get 2 free books right away, plus I’m confident you’ll get hooked on listening, too.

5 Books Good for My Mama Heart

  1. Bringing Up Bebe
  2. Carry On, Warrior (The Power of Embracing Your Messy, Beautiful Life)
  3. Prayers for Our Children
  4. Chasing Slow
  5. Present Over Perfect

I could go on and on about these books, but I say, read the descriptions and see if any of them speak to you, too. (Or try them all!) Bringing Up Bebe was a really unique parenting book that didn’t read like a parenting book AT ALL. Anything by Glennon is something I can’t put down, but Carry On, Warrior is so hilarious and lovely all at the same time. I laughed and cried and felt so humbled to live my messy, beautiful life after reading it.  I leave Prayers for Your Children on my nightstand and it’s opened my heart to praying for my kids in new ways + has brought new scripture into my mind while parenting. Chasing Slow and Present Over Perfect both have helped me dive further into this concept of  s l o w i n g  d o w n  and finding simple, soulful + meaningful ways of living in everything I do.

Of course there are SO many books out there, but this short list always sticks out to me. As I mentioned, I’m always listening to something these days so I promise, a podcast list is coming soon, too! Next up on my book list though are: Uninvited: Living Loved When You Feel Left Out, Less Than and Lonely &  Girl Code: Unlocking the Secrets to Success, Sanity and Happiness for the Female Entrepreneur. (Oh and finally finishing Big Magic (Creative Living Beyond Fear), which is really good so far!)

What are you reading or listening to? I’d love to hear from you.

Wishing all of your hearts well on the start of this new week.

XO
